Day #6:
"A photo of yourself two years ago."

This is my high school senior photo, taken in my grandmother's yard, by my sister-in-law, in my favorite shirt, with my favorite hat, with my beautiful buddy Wash (that's the guitar, fyi).  So yeah, there are lots of special things about this picture.

Looking at this picture is a surreal experience.  This photo signals a strange period for me.  High school was just... high school.  It feels like a different lifetime from where I am now.  I'm a better person now.  I think the difference is I thought I knew everything about me back then... now I realize that "me" is a tough thing to figure outFriends change, interests evolve, situations resolve and renew. What I can do now that was hard then is roll with the punches of all these changes.  God is more central to my life now than ever before, and when that happens, everything becomes easier, doesn't it?

Matthew 11:29-30:
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Xmas-7!

Matthew 2:8-12
He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.
